2020 Toyota Tundra New Design, Price, Specs, Interior. Introduced eleven years ago, Tundra truck didn’t change that much at all. The first and only huge redesign happened three years ago in order to maintain a respectable reputation. The 2020 Toyota Tundra will arrive next year and the new model will introduce plenty of improvements.
An aging exterior will get a much-needed update, the interior will host even more modern high-tech amenities and the performance will see a slight boost. Toyota confirms that the latest Safety Sense-P suite will be in the offer. Generally, it is a whole package in one, and 2020 Toyota Tundra should represent a fresh start of Toyota in the full-size pickup segment.
2020 Toyota Tundra Engine
The forthcoming 2020 Toyota Tundra offers only one engine choice for now. A well-known 5.7-liter V8 is present for ages, but on the other hand, this unit will see a slight improvement.
While the horsepower and torque numbers will remain, this drivetrain will see an enhancement in fuel economy. This engine provides 381 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, just like the previous models.
Transmission and Towing Capacity
A 6-speed automatic transmission is gone and the new gearbox comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
An optional 10-speed transmission will make a production and it will be optional. While the previous model was capable of towing up to 10,500, the new model will overlap this number for sure.
2020 Toyota Tundra Redesign and Updates
A different bodywork and new styling cues are what we can expect to see on new 2020 Toyota Tundra. The front end gets a new fascia and headlights, the roof is improved and even the side profile will get a more distinctive appearance.
The front grille gets a slight change as more chrome materials are included and the overall dimensions are bigger. 18-inch wheels are standard as on the previous model, just like the cargo bed that now adds a 110-power outlet and storage boxes.
The overall weight of the 2020 Toyota Tundra has reduced thanks to the aluminum materials on a new platform. That allows this truck to grow in size.
2020 Toyota Tundra Interior is high-tech
Basically, everything from the inside will remain and the only change is high-tech upgrades. For the start, a new infotainment system replaces the older one, and new gauge cluster looks more modern than its predecessor.
Instead of a single USB port, new Tundra will host five of them. The overall dimension increase means more legroom, and more legroom means better comfort inside the cabin.
Safety Sense-P suite
As we mention, Toyota decides to add a latest Safety Sense-P suite, both active and passive. That includes a backup camera, blind spot monitoring, auto emergency braking and lane keep assist.
2020 Toyota Tundra Price and Release Date
The base model’s starting price is $31,500. A special version TRD Pro will cost around $44,000 and Crew Max model $48,500. The 2020 Toyota Tundra will see the light of the day in the second half of 2019.
